The brand identity concept and launch for Jazz Lounge and luxurious ‘Studio’ in Hong Kong brought a new live music and late night concept to the city, with instant success.
The Brief
The owners of soon-to-launched simply named ‘Studio’ wanted to launch a luxury late-night Jazz lounge concept, with live-music and a refined atmosphere.
With a theme of ‘• Lounge • Live • Late’, Studio was intended to be a glamorous lounge bar with live music, a rotating set of soul, funk, and Latin jazz. Plus late-night DJs with a range of R&B hip-hop funk and disco house..

The Answer
Hong Kong isn’t necessarily known for Jazz, but there’s no shortage of clubs, so the brand needed to be persuasive. It also had to appeal to an upscale audience. To add to the challenge, the project had a tight timeframe and everything had to be designed from scratch.
The winning concept was built around striking, simple gold typography overlaid on a teal background and lines that lent themself to form language.
I created the logo and form-language, digital social media artwork plus printed artwork, member gifts, and bar and music equipment in record time.
The Outcome
For Studio’s grand launch, I designed a large-scale entrance backdrop, membership gift boxes and exclusive invites that attracted a guest list of socialites, celebrities and influencers.
The rebrand received an overwhelmingly positive response from the club owners, the public and the press. This resulted in a sold-out full capacity club week-on-week and expansive media coverage.
